Psychotherapy

Therapy offers a safe, confidential space where you can explore the emotions connected to your past, present, and future experiences. Over time, this process can help you develop new, healthier beliefs about yourself, others, and the world around you. As you begin to release old patterns and let go of beliefs that no longer serve you, you create space to move into a new and more fulfilling stage of your life.

Not everyone comes to therapy with clear memories or specific events. Sometimes what we carry shows up as a strong feeling, a physical sensation, or a sense that something isn’t quite right. These bodily‑held experiences are just as valid and can be explored gently and effectively within therapy.

People seek therapy for many different reasons.  It allows clients to explore all areas of their emotional worlds. You may be facing a life crisis, navigating a transition, or wanting to make meaningful changes for the future. You might be looking for short‑term support or wishing to engage in a deeper, longer‑term therapeutic process.  It requires a high level of training from the practitioner to enable them to become an attuned listener and to put their emptional needs aside in that moment.
Psychotherapy

The length and depth of therapy will depend on your individual circumstances and what you hope to achieve. It can take time to feel fully secure within the therapeutic relationship, and that’s completely natural.

Together, we work at a pace that feels safe and supportive for you.

Working Together in Therapy

My aim is to support and guide you through your therapeutic process, working at a pace that feels comfortable and safe for you. Psychotherapy is confidential, with the exception of rare circumstances where safety is a concern — these will be clearly explained during our initial meeting so you know exactly what to expect.

Therapy is not only about exploring difficulties; it is also about recognising your strengths, celebrating your progress, and developing greater self‑compassion as you move forward.

Where and How I work

My approach draws on Transactional Analysis, a theory that straddles humanistic and psychodynamic theories.  I incorporate into these dimensions of relational, psychoanalytic and trauma based theories.

I offer psychotherapy from my practice in Trowbridge and also provide online sessions for those who prefer to work remotely. A short introductory phone call or Zoom meeting gives us the opportunity to see whether we feel like a good fit for working together.

Sessions take place weekly at a regular time, offering consistency and a sense of stability. I offer a range of fees, which we will discuss during your first session. Concessions may be available depending on your circumstances and the number of reduced‑fee spaces I currently have open.

Qualifications and Professional Standards

I am a qualified psychotherapist and a registered member of the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP). To ensure my work remains ethical, safe, and effective, I engage in regular clinical supervision and ongoing professional development. This helps me stay informed about emerging theories, research, and best practice within the field of psychotherapy.

Psychotherapists are qualified to work with adults aged 18 or older who are not experiencing acute mental health crises that requires medical help such as, psychosis or schizophrenia.  Additional training can be taken to work with couples, teenagers and children.

If you are interested in booking a session or would like to find out more, please contact me using the contact page, send me an email or give me a call.
